Happy National Take a Chance Day!

Did you know today was ‘National Take a Chance Day?’ You do now! I think it’s a great reminder to celebrate the wins that we don’t always recognize or too busy to take a moment to sit with.

Get in the practice of recognizing all the ways you’ve stepped out of your comfort zone, did something different, gone the path less taken, and grown as a person. You could be making a second-career change, growing your family, moving to a new place, starting a company, launching a product or putting yourself out there in the press. There are so many ways to ‘take a risk’ small and large. Here size doesn’t matter!

You may even be working on your 5, 10 or 15 year goal plan. You could be thinking of a goal that you’re about to prioritize. Those all count! If it’s new to you, it’s a risk. Change always creates some level of discomfort, however, that can be a signal to you if it’s paired with passion and this gut feeling that you need to go for it.

Do you have some goals that you’re aiming for? I’d love to hear from you and celebrate your wins.

Some of my biggest chances that I’ve taken:

  • Moving to NYC after college

  • Quitting my job and starting my own consulting agency seven years go

  • Taking a chance on love and moving to Beirut, Lebanon

  • Deciding I wanted to be a hotel barge owner, and go to Barge School in France

  • Buying a house (a home tour!) and my very first car as an adult! I’ve always been a city girl.

  • Trademarking Trip Whisperer™️

  • Launching a branded trip to Lebanon September 1-9, 2023 that is my pride and joy of an itinerary. Check it out here.

  • Recently, I’ve been putting myself out there more in the press, Lives and social media in general. It’s been a goal of mine to build my personal brand while helping other businesses. You would be shocked how hard it is for publicists to toot their own horn!

When you try new things, step outside your comfort zone and embrace change, the more confident you become. The more you trust your instincts. There is no such thing as perfect timing. And the only way you find out if you’re up to the task, you do it. Failure is apart of the process, so if you fall, get back up and try again.
