This Week(s) in Travel: July 8 &11
With the 4th of July weekend and going to the Hamptons the following weekend, I decided to combine the weekly updates. Summer Fridays, am I right?
€ Euro-Trip
This week, we’ve seen the Euro drop to parity with the USD, which hasn’t happened in 20 years. Does that mean we should flock to Europe? Probably not. Currently, Heathrow is asking airlines to stop selling flights and the Amsterdam airport was overrun not too long ago.
If you want to go to Europe and haven’t already booked, start looking at September, October, or November and tracking flight deals. Shoulder Season was always a quieter period. However, with travel demand like it is, we may see a lot of people shifting when they travel and still have flexibility with remote work.
Valid Passport?
Make sure your passport is valid and check the expiration date to get ahead of the renewal date. Many countries require you to have a 6-month validity period from the last day of your return date of travel, so it’s not good to leave it till the last minute. Now that the backlogs have dissipated and the Government won’t allow you to travel with an expired passport officially – don’t delay.
