This Week in Travel: July 22nd
The heatwave sweeping across the globe is truly stifling and wreaking havoc on summer travel plans. Airport tarmacs are literally melting in Europe. If you need to escape the heat, I’ve learned of this app Swimply where you can find the nearest pool and jump in. Sounds like a service that would be in high demand right about now.

Japan - Better Hold Off
As I’m planning a honeymoon for friends, it’s been increasingly difficult with the “through guide” requirement for travelers still. The country has been a hold out and stricter more than most around the world. The rule is supposed to lift at the end of September, but as we know nothing is guaranteed. Hold off for now until after September to see for sure. Sadly, that is going to postpone their honeymoon since the full-time guide would nearly double the trip budget. And not all that romantic to have a babysitter! Heads up everyone, and I’ll keep you posted.
